So we hit Great Adventure (again) on July 21, 2008. The weather was great, the lines weren't that long (except Dark Knight) and
Johnny Rockets burgers were top notch.
Miz and Kir got to ride The Dark Knight for the first time. They thought it was good but not worth all the hype. Also
it wasn't worth waiting that long in line for. It was good to see most of the rides up and running. The sad thing
is that Houdini's Great Escape ride was closed. I like this ride and wished they'd have it running. But who knows maybe it
will be ready for Fright Fest.
Medusa was in good form as well as Nitro. I personally enjoyed the Buccaneer and the Enchanted Tea Cups. I like those
kind of rides.I only wish Great Adventure had more of them like a Tilt-A-Whirl or Whip.
El Toro was lightning according to Miz and Mace. And Kingda Ka was.... well none of us ride it so it was just there
ok?
Mace and I had some issues with the park over their new Big 6 Pass and are trying to resolve it. I mean Season Pass holders
are getting totally ripped off when the park offers something cheaper a few weeks after the park opens and many people already
spent over $100 on a season pass.
That is just disrespectful to loyal patrons and we are fighting it. It wouldn't bother me as much if the park had just
offered up some sort of answer. But they stammered and side stepped the issues. I think $100+ is a lot to pay for a season
pass to a park that has removed more rides over the last 9 years than it has added.
Anyway, a good time was had by all for the most part this particular day.
See ya at the parks,
Paulie
